Indirect comparisons of rates of bleeding outcomes across trials provide particular challenges because of variability in the definitions and reporting of major bleeding, but are important because bleeding is at least as frequent as ischaemic events and is associated with a substantial risk of morbidity and mortality. Although indirect comparisons across trials are subject to confounding because of differences in patients characteristics, cointerventions, and outcome definitions, they are important for clinicians faced with having to choose the best treatment for their patients. Randomized controlled trials provide the most valid comparisons of the efficacy and safety of two treatments but the new oral P2Y 12 inhibitors have not been directly compared with double-dose clopidogrel or with one another. 4–6 The new oral P2Y 12 inhibitors and double-dose clopidogrel were associated with improved efficacy compared with standard doses of clopidogrel, but in some trials these new treatment strategies also increased major bleeding. 1, 2 Concern about clopidogrel's delayed onset and offset of action, incomplete inhibition of the platelet P2Y 12 receptor and variability in patient response to the drug 3 has prompted evaluation, in large randomized controlled trials, of the efficacy and safety of new more potent and rapidly acting oral P2Y 12 inhibitors and of double-dose clopidogrel (600 mg loading dose, 150 mg daily for 6-days, 75 mg daily thereafter) compared with standard-dose clopidogrel (300 mg loading dose, 75 mg daily thereafter). The combination of aspirin and clopidogrel has been the standard of antiplatelet therapy across the spectrum of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and in those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The contrast in bleeding rates of standard-dose clopidogrel among the trials was attenuated when using the thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) definition for major bleeding (range 1.1–7.7%) and bleeding rates in all the trials were less than 2% when comparing 30 day rates of non-coronary artery bypass graft surgery-related TIMI major bleeding (range 0.3–1.9%).īleeding, P2Y 12 inhibitors, Acute coronary syndrome, Definition Introduction Using the trial definition, major bleeding rates in patients treated with standard-dose clopidogrel ranged from 0.6% in COMMIT to 11.2% in PLATO. clopidogrel double-dose (600-mg loading dose, 150-mg daily for 6-days, 75-mg daily thereafter) (CURRENT-OASIS 7). prasugrel (TRITON-TIMI 38) or ticagrelor (PLATO) and clopidogrel standard-dose vs. placebo (CURE, CLARITY-TIMI 28, COMMIT), clopidogrel standard-dose vs. The trials compared clopidogrel standard-dose (300-mg loading dose, 75-mg daily thereafter) vs. Electronic searches identified six phase III randomized controlled oral P2Y 12 inhibitor trials published between 20 involving 119 020 patients with ACS.

In terms of its global appeal, Maskara thinks “there is a huge market overseas starting with the diaspora. CinePlay has hosted ticketed screenings at cultural venues – instead of cinemas – such as Mumbai’s National Centre for the Performing Arts and Delhi’s India Habitat Centre. In addition to Between The Lines, other productions include iconic Hindi play Adhe Adhure (which has been staged since the sixties) and Dance Like A Man. We wanted to do specially filmed versions with the right lighting and sound while still preserving the live experience.”ĬinePlay has produced five plays so far and has fifteen productions in the pipeline. Maskara also says that while he had seen some international references of recorded versions of plays, “I never found them engaging since they were mostly recordings of a live performance for an audience. STORY Study Abroad: The Top 15 International Film Schools “That got me thinking about doing a specially filmed version of the play so that it could be shared with a wider audience.” “We had about 40 house full shows and had requests for another 30 or so performances but due to various logistical reasons, we couldn’t do more shows,” Maskara – who has a background as a serial entrepreneur and angel investor – told The Hollywood Reporter. The idea came into being when Maskara and Das co-starred in their 2012 English play Between The Lines which revolved around a lawyer couple who end up arguing on opposite sides of a criminal trial, blurring their personal and professional lives. Future plans include marketing the concept via digital and other platforms to target a global audience. Co-founded by actress and former Cannes jury member Nandita Das and her husband Subodh Maskara, CinePlay has produced specially filmed versions of plays and screened them at cultural venues in Mumbai and Delhi. I like it better than Paper Towns, which was made into a movie and comes out July 24th. Whether or not any of this is true I am still excited to read it! I am almost done reading Looking for Alaska by John Green (he wrote Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars). I read Lee wrote this first but then her editor asked her to focus on Scout’s childhood. I loved To Kill a Mockingbird when I read it in high school. And I’m sure there will be sequels to Minions. So if you love them then there will be plenty of times to see them again!Īlso anyone else excited about Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman? It comes out Tuesday. There is actually a Despicable Me 3 scheduled to come out in the summer of 2017. The minions gained a cult like following after Despicable Me so I’m not surprised by their success. The movie opened with the second biggest animated opening (behind Shrek The Third in 2007). Bob, Stuart, and Kevin (minions) find themselves in trouble but manage to get out of it just in time to team up with young Gru at the end of the movie. This leads the minions to a villain convention where they meet Scarlett and then plan to steal Queen Elizabeth’s crown. The premise was a prequel to finding Gru and how they wanted to find a villain to follow. Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, and Steve Coogan voice various characters too. Sandra Bullock AKA People’s Most Beautiful Woman this year was great as the villain Scarlett Overkill and her husband Herb was voiced by the Jon Hamm. I thought it was cool how they set it in the 1960s though and showed current events. I did think it had some funny parts but overall wasn’t too impressed. Minions just didn’t have the substance needed for a great movie. I heard Tom Hardy signed on for 3 more movies so that’s exciting! I can’t pinpoint a specific scene that I loved since it was all so great so you all should definitely see it! Random tidbit, the War Boys spray silver paint on their mouths right before they sacrifice themselves and I saw on Amazon there is a silver cake decorating spray where people have commented like they are War Boys or Immortan Joe hahahah here is the link: Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron as Furiosa are both fantastic and badass. Max barely speaks throughout the movie but the saying actions speak louder than words rings true in this movie. They cross paths and team up to destroy Immortan Joe who keeps women breeders captive and withholds water from his people because he thinks only weak people need it. She wants to return to her homeland while he is just trying to survive. After seeing this movie I want to see the other three! This one is set in a post-apocalyptic world where rebels Max and Furiosa try to calm the chaos. They tried making a sequel a while back with Mel Gibson playing the lead again but it never worked out. I read that the director of Mad Max:Fury Road, George Miller who did all of the other movies too, wanted this one to be on its own. Little ones won’t care though, they should love it! It was cute and funny but it didn’t have the same gusto as Despicable Me. I thought Despicable Me was way better (I like how they were the side-kicks in it before but having a whole movie about them didn’t really work). Anyone who loves action should definitely see it! Minions was pretty good, but I didn’t love it. But I loved it! It was way different from most movies I see so it was refreshing to see something new. Honestly I didn’t really want to see Mad Max but it got really good reviews and all of my brothers recommended it (along with every person I know who has seen it haha) I haven’t seen the old ones and it looked a little weird to me. So I’ve been seeing a lot of movies recently □ This past week I saw Mad Max:Fury Road and Minions. Production rates are distributed from each trunk line through to each header via jump over lines with motor-operated valves (MOVs) set at different openings. The below schematic diagram represents the trunk lines and production header arrangement in Fig. Each trunk line is connected to five production headers and these production headers feed multiphase wet crude to high-pressure production traps (HPPTs) where the initial three phase separation takes place, then the separated oil is further processed in the low-pressure production trap (LPPT), where two-phase separation occurs.Īfter that, it goes through the dehydrator and desalter and water oil separation vessel (WOSEP) for further processing to meet the required oil and water specifications. The inlet configuration of the subject facility consists of 14 trunk lines, which brings the multiphase wet crude from remote manifolds to the central facility. On the other hand, transient slugs occur when changes in flow conditions occur due to pipeline scrapping operations or changes in pipeline flow rates. Terrain induced slugs are resulting from large elevation changes along the pipeline, they result from the build-up and dumping of liquids in each low spot in the line, and it is difficult to predict these slugs compared to hydrodynamic slugging. The hydrodynamic slug results when flow lines are operating in a stratified flow regime with density variations in the vertical direction. There are three basic mechanisms of slug formation, which are hydrodynamic slug, terrain induced slug and transient slug. High gas rates can lead to compressors overloading and flaring. High liquid rates can rapidly fill up the separators and cause shutdowns due to high level trips, which will have an impact on separation efficiency, crude quality and produced water quality. Slugs of liquid in multiphase lines can create serious design and operating problems for gas-oil separation plant (GOSP) processing equipment. (P&GJ) - The slug flow is a varying or irregular flow in the pipeline and surges of gas and liquid through any cross-section of a flowline. During the composition of this episode, Joyce drafted as a reference a “pair of notesheets where Joyce listed all the ‘characters’ that had appeared thus far in Ulysses to assure their inclusion in ‘Circe’” (Groden 175). In addition to the power of “Circe” to transform the novel, this episode also portrays the grotesque transformation of hundreds of characters (dead and living), inanimate objects, and concepts thus far encountered in Ulysses. Joyce estimated that he wrote a third of Ulysses at the proof stage of the revision process (Beach 58), arranging codependent details all over the novel and weaving a web of intratextual puzzles that will “keep the professors busy for centuries” ( JJ 521). This episode, with its exhaustive reprises of virtually every character, object, and idea introduced in the novel thus far, would compel Joyce to revise much of what he had previously written. Little did he know that “Circe” would require eight drafts and take over half a year to write ( Letters), much less that it would have the power to bewitch his creative process and entirely transform Ulysses. In early spring 1920, Joyce emerged from the 1,000 hours he had spent writing “Oxen” and turned his attention to “Circe.” He expected that this episode, like the few he had recently composed, would take him two to three months to complete. Finally, some of Odysseus’s crew shake him from the madness of his long Circean interlude and compel him to resume the journey home to Ithaca. The plan works: the moly counters Circe’s magic, she swoons for Odysseus and transforms his crew from pigs back into men. Odysseus bravely hopes to rescue his men from Circe’s enchantment on the way to her house, Odysseus receives help from Hermes, who offers him a plan and equips him with moly, a magical herb that will protect him from Circe’s witchcraft. One man escapes to tell Odysseus about their comrades’ fate and Circe’s trickery. Circe invites Odysseus’s men inside for a drink and then magically turns them into pigs. In The Odyssey, Odysseus and his crew land on Aeaea, and a team of scouts discover the palace of Circe, a witch goddess. Bloom is hustling to catch up after stopping briefly to buy snacks. Accompanied by Lynch (and trailed by Bloom), Stephen has taken the train from Westland Row to Amiens Station and is now on his way to a brothel. As Stephen anticipated all the way back in “Telemachus,” he will not sleep there tonight. Regardless, Buck and Haines have departed without Stephen on the last train toward the Tower in Sandycove. Between the end of “Oxen” and the start of “Circe,” a sundering occurred between Stephen and Buck Mulligan in Westland Row Station perhaps Buck simply abandoned Stephen, or maybe there was a physical confrontation. Worried over Stephen’s drunken condition, Bloom has followed him into Nighttown in hopes of taking care of him.
