![]() ![]() I like it better than Paper Towns, which was made into a movie and comes out July 24th. Whether or not any of this is true I am still excited to read it! I am almost done reading Looking for Alaska by John Green (he wrote Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars). I read Lee wrote this first but then her editor asked her to focus on Scout’s childhood. I loved To Kill a Mockingbird when I read it in high school. And I’m sure there will be sequels to Minions. So if you love them then there will be plenty of times to see them again!Īlso anyone else excited about Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman? It comes out Tuesday. There is actually a Despicable Me 3 scheduled to come out in the summer of 2017. The minions gained a cult like following after Despicable Me so I’m not surprised by their success. The movie opened with the second biggest animated opening (behind Shrek The Third in 2007). Bob, Stuart, and Kevin (minions) find themselves in trouble but manage to get out of it just in time to team up with young Gru at the end of the movie. This leads the minions to a villain convention where they meet Scarlett and then plan to steal Queen Elizabeth’s crown. The premise was a prequel to finding Gru and how they wanted to find a villain to follow. Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, and Steve Coogan voice various characters too. Sandra Bullock AKA People’s Most Beautiful Woman this year was great as the villain Scarlett Overkill and her husband Herb was voiced by the Jon Hamm. I thought it was cool how they set it in the 1960s though and showed current events. I did think it had some funny parts but overall wasn’t too impressed. Minions just didn’t have the substance needed for a great movie. ![]() I heard Tom Hardy signed on for 3 more movies so that’s exciting! I can’t pinpoint a specific scene that I loved since it was all so great so you all should definitely see it! Random tidbit, the War Boys spray silver paint on their mouths right before they sacrifice themselves and I saw on Amazon there is a silver cake decorating spray where people have commented like they are War Boys or Immortan Joe hahahah here is the link: Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron as Furiosa are both fantastic and badass. ![]() Max barely speaks throughout the movie but the saying actions speak louder than words rings true in this movie. They cross paths and team up to destroy Immortan Joe who keeps women breeders captive and withholds water from his people because he thinks only weak people need it. She wants to return to her homeland while he is just trying to survive. After seeing this movie I want to see the other three! This one is set in a post-apocalyptic world where rebels Max and Furiosa try to calm the chaos. They tried making a sequel a while back with Mel Gibson playing the lead again but it never worked out. I read that the director of Mad Max:Fury Road, George Miller who did all of the other movies too, wanted this one to be on its own. Little ones won’t care though, they should love it! It was cute and funny but it didn’t have the same gusto as Despicable Me. I thought Despicable Me was way better (I like how they were the side-kicks in it before but having a whole movie about them didn’t really work). Anyone who loves action should definitely see it! Minions was pretty good, but I didn’t love it. But I loved it! It was way different from most movies I see so it was refreshing to see something new. Honestly I didn’t really want to see Mad Max but it got really good reviews and all of my brothers recommended it (along with every person I know who has seen it haha) I haven’t seen the old ones and it looked a little weird to me. So I’ve been seeing a lot of movies recently □ This past week I saw Mad Max:Fury Road and Minions. ![]()
